50 Cent Thinks the Grammys Snubbed Fetty Wap

50 Cent isn't one to keep his opinions to himself. In addition to dropping three new songs ("I'm the Man," "Body Bags" and "Too Rich," from the nascent The Kanan Tape), he has criticized Def Jam for their handling of Jeremih's Late Nights: The Album, offended Derek Jeter, mocked Ronda Rousey and sparring with his ex, Vivica A. Fox--and that's all in the last month. So it should come as no surprise that he had something today when, on Monday (Dec. 7), the Grammy committee announced the nominees for their 2016 awards ceremony. Many were surprised that Fetty Wap, the one-eyed wonder from New Jersey, was left off the list of nominees for Best New Artist; 50 Cent took to Instagram to commiserate:

Of course, 50 is being modest: the Queen rapper was, in fact, nominated at the 2004 Grammys, but lost the category to Evanescence. Working backward, the rap artists to make the shortlist in that category are as follows:

The nominees for Best New Artist this year are Courtney Barnett, James Bay, Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly and Meghan Trainor. Fetty was nominated in the Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song categories, both for his breakout hit "Trap Queen." (The Performance category recognizes the best finished track, whereas Song is an award for the record's composition.)
