Nicki Minaj Wishes the Drake and Meek Mill Beef Was Over

Nicki Minaj finally spoke about the Drake and Meek Mill beef. Nicki is the newest cover star of The New York Times Magazine and in her interview she opens up about the ongoing feud. "They’re men, grown-ass men,’’ she said. ‘‘It’s between them.’’ On how it made her feel: "I hate it," she said. ‘‘It doesn’t make me feel good. You don’t ever want to choose sides between people you love. It’s ridiculous. I just want it to be over." The New York native is currently dating Meek and is also Drake's close friend.

She also discussed her issues with Miley Cyrus and explains why she called out the pop singer at this year's MTV Video Music Award. “The fact that you feel upset about me speaking on something that affects black women makes me feel like you have some big balls," she said. "You’re in videos with black men, and you’re bringing out black women on your stages, but you don’t want to know how black women feel about something that’s so important? Come on, you can’t want the good without the bad. If you want to enjoy our culture and our lifestyle, bond with us, dance with us, have fun with us, twerk with us, rap with us, then you should also want to know what affects us, what is bothering us, what we feel is unfair to us. You shouldn’t not want to know that.”

The issue started this summer when Minaj called out MTV after her “Anaconda” video did not receive a Video of the Year nod for the VMAs. Minaj tweeted about how the show only “celebrates women with very slim bodies” and inconsistently acknowledges the work of black women. Taylor Swift initially interpreted Minaj’s comments as a personal attack and accused Minaj of pinning women against each other. She would later apologize and the two superstars would reconcile and perform together at the VMAs. Cyrus spoke to the Times a few days before hosting the VMAs and said that Minaj's accusations were only pushing the rapper's personal agenda. At the VMAs, Nicki was not shy about her thoughts on Miley's comments and shared them after accepting the Moon Man for Best Hip-Hop Video.
