Missy Elliott Joins Janet Jackson to Perform at State of the World Tour Stop in Atlanta
Missy Elliott's name has been ringing bells this year and over the weekend was no different. On Sun., Dec. 17 Missy joined Janet Jackson onstage for Jackson's State of the World Tour stop in Atlanta.
“Misdemeanor” was brought out to a roaring and frenzied crowd. A frequent and trusted collaborator, the hitmaker who’s responsible for some of Jackson’s more iconic hits ("Feedback," "Son Of A Gun," "Burnitup!") performed the latter together in front of a sold out crowd.
Elliott shared her love and mutual admiration with a post performance tweet, “Thank you @JanetJackson for bringing me out on your last show for this tour! You still AMAZE ME with your performances! YOU are 4ever LEGENDARY,” the “Get Your Freak On” emcee tweeted as she fangirl’d out like most normal humans would.
An early embracer of hip-hop, Janet has worked with and cosigned some of the biggest artists in the game both old and new school including Q-Tip (“Got Til It’s Gone”), J. Cole (“No Sleeep”) and her greatest crossover with Busta Rhymes, the iconic hit “What’s It Gonna Be!?”.
