Step aside, Diddy Swag. Clipse rapper Malice is the latest rapper to initiate a name change.

The critically-acclaimed MC told Ruby Hornet TV he has outgrown his current name, and though he hasn’t settled on a new moniker, he seeks something less evil than his current handle. “I’m not a malicious person, and I don’t really like answering to that,” he said . “You don’t want to be under any moniker that is of evil intent, that’s not you.” [Watch above]

The Virginia Beach native has made his livelihood from words and said he now realizes their power. Malice recently had a life-changing religious experience, which he documents in his first book, Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind and Naked. “The power of the tongue is life and death, so I believe you are what you fall under, whether it’s in your subconscious or not,” he said. “It’s just me just trying to clean up a little bit more, but I haven’t thought of that name yet, so yeah, Malicious is [what] it is right now.”
