Lord Jamar Thinks Eminem’s Diss Towards Him on “Fall” Is Wack
Lord Jamar has responded to Eminem's diss on the new album Kamikaze. Speaking on Monday (Sept. 10) on the Yanadameen Godcast podcast, which the Brand Nubian member co-hosts with Rah Digga, Jamar called Shady's bars targeting him "kinda wack."
"To be honest, I'm disappointed in this little diss," Jamar said. "I think it was kinda wack for an Eminem verse."
The diss in question came on Em's song "Fall," which also fires shots at Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks, among others. "And far as Lord Jamar, you better leave me the hell alone/Or I'll show you an Elvis clone/Walk up in this house you own, thrust my pelvic bone/Use your telephone and go fetch me the remote/Put my feet up and just make myself at home/I belong here, clown, don't tell me 'bout the culture," Em raps on the song.
The line seems to be a response to comments from a 2014 interview with DJ Vlad in which Lord Jamar discusses Eminem's status as a White rapper and states that he doesn't "feel" Shady because he doesn't relate to his lyrics.
On his podcast, Jamar declared Eminem's response, regardless of quality, a victory, and expressed pleasure that he forced the rapper to address his previous comments.
"If he didn't respond, I win, and if he responds, I win. Either way, I win, okay? Because you are now doing what the fuck I wanted you to do. I have made you modify your behavior. I got into your psyche," he said.
Jamar added, "I was expecting something a little more wordier ... I thought I'd get something much better."
Several other targets of Eminem's disses on Kamikaze have responded in recent days. Budden, who was formerly signed to Shady Records, said on his own podcast that he's been "better than [Em] this entire fucking decade," while Machine Gun Kelly, dissed elsewhere on the album, dropped a response diss track titled "Rap Devil."
