Listen to Katie Got Bandz Feat. Chi Hoover and Jeremih, “Make Me Rich”

We're little more than a year removed from Drillary Clinton 2, but it's been more than enough time to make sweeping aesthetic changes--reaching across the aisle, one might say. Katie Got Bandz now returns with her newest single, the Jeremih- and Chi Hoover-featuring "Make Me Rich." Where the work that made her famous, from the breakout single "I Need a Hitta" through the first two installments of her acclaimed mixtape series, traded in maximalist drill and trap, "Rich" is stripped down to its core elements. With little more than a drum track to fall back on, Katie relies on the two crooner for melodies and otherwise gets serious about her fiscal responsibilities. The single is expected to appear on the forthcoming Drillary Clinton 3, though it remains to be seen what creative direction that project takes. Despite the drill scene still being near its creative peak--see Ballin' Like I'm Kobe--the national critical community seems to have wandering eyes. We'll see if Ms. Bandz can adapt.
