If there is a rapper more inextricably tied to a dessert than Gucci Mane is to ice cream, please bring him or her to us at the XXL offices immediately. The Ice Cream Man himself is back with yet another from-behind-bars release, this time a brief three-song EP called Dessert. Sourcing beats from Purps, Mike WiLL Made It and the Honorable C-Note, Gucci starts with a simple, probably inarguable credo: Don't make me mad. It's a plea--"Please don't make me, please don't make me, please don't make me..." Drenched in Autotune, the song is a curious anachronism, even for a guy who is the most prolific rapper in hip-hop from a jail cell.

That relentless swell of material was on full display when, last week, Guwop let loose of not one, not two, but three full LPs of new material. Titled BreakfastLunch and Dinner, the set--collectively 33 songs--is representative of Gucci's output this past several years: dense, difficult to parse, rewarding to those who do and surprisingly current.

Gucci Mane is currently serving out a prison term for possessing a firearm as a registered felon. As of now, he is scheduled to be released in March of 2017. Please write to him at the following address, and check out Dessert below:
