Hierophant:a person who brings religious congregants into the presence of that which is deemed holy. While Asher Roth isn't kicking the gospel, he is preaching some pretty dope rhymes in his new track, "Hierophant." Roth, who recently celebrated a birthday, has been dropping new material sporadically throughout the year. Today, he uploads his latest banger to his Soundcloud account which is produced by Detroit beat maker/rapper Black Milk. On the short but satisfying composition, Milk sets up the nod factor with a grimy boom-bap instrumental. Roth carries the torch, burning through the beasty soundscape with a meandering rhyme pattern that falls in line perfectly with the score.

After capturing the rap conscious with his debut LP, Asleep In The Bread Isle, which was spearheaded by the fun single, "I Love College" in 2009, the Pennsylvania rapper put out his follow up album Retrohash last year.
