Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott and More Among First Rappers to Cop Louis Vuitton’s $1,000 Wireless Earphones
Earlier this week (Jan. 22), reports of Louis Vuitton's plans to release their first-ever monogram wireless Horizon earphones surfaced on the internet. Although the high-class earbuds won't hit retailers until later this year, rappers like Uzi, Lil Boat and La Flame have already gotten their hands on them. The pair of earphones cost $995.
After receiving his pair of the exclusive earphones, Lil Yachty thought they dripped so hard that he held an impromptu funeral for his Apple Airpods. In a video he posted on Instagram, the Quality Control rapper buried the all-white earphones and claimed that his replacement buds were a sign of real wealth. Meanwhile, Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert also flashed off their new pairs, but it's not clear if they followed Yachty's directions to bury their AirPods.
Although they entered the tech industry with the Tambour Horizon watch in 2017, Louis Vuitton recently collaborated with Master & Dynamic, a New York-based audio brand company, to create the luxury ear buds. They're compatible with Apple iPhones and Android phones and come in four colorways including red, black, white and yellow and blue LV stripes. The LV earbuds last up to three-and-a-half hours on a single charge and come with a concave-shaped stainless steel white or black charging case.
