Kyle Taps Kehlani for New Song “Playinwitme”

On the heels of his new song "To the Moon," Kyle makes his presence felt once again on Tuesday (March 20) with the release of his latest single, "Playinwitme." The piano-laden tune features songstress Kehlani—the duo previously teamed up for the track "Just a Picture."

The 2017 XXL Freshman opens the song wondering about the motives of a female who is wasting his time, "Girl, why are you playin' with me?/I don't got the time for that/Might need me a refund, haha/I'ma need that time back," he raps.

The "Nowhere Fast" artist continues the track's theme by injecting flavor with a verse of her own. "Damn, why are you playin' with me?/You don't even like girls, ha/So I need you to tell me, baby/What you want just like the Spice Girls," she rhymes in reference to the Spice Girls' 1996 smash "Wannabe."

The 24-year-old premiered the track on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 and detailed how his friendship with Kehlani came about and even revealed some nuggets about his upcoming album, which will feature a collaboration with Khalid called “I Miss Me” as well as a track with 2 Chainz and Sophia Black.
