Krizz Kaliko has built a career as a rapper, but he's about to make a big change. The Strange Music artist is set to release a pop/R&B album called Go as he steps away from his hip-hop roots. Kaliko has always been an adept singer, yet it's mostly been used to service his or fellow Strange Music artists like Tech N9ne's rap records. Now, the Kansas City native is looking to show his worth as a singer.

In his reintroduction to the music world, Krizz Kaliko has released the new single "Stop the World" produced by Seven. While the song clearly displays his singing chops, it also shows his emotional tone as a writer as the single addresses the harsh realties of dealing with depression.

Krizz Kaliko addressed his musical shift in the press release for "Stop the World."

"I'm an unlikely pop star," Krizz Kaliko concedes. "That's reserved for conventionally beautiful people but there's something about me that people gravitate towards. My music overshadows my appearance and my fans love me for the battles I've been through and many have told me my music has prevented them from committing suicide. I named my first R&B album Go to propel me out of the funk I've been in for the past year. I've had to press on through so much crap in my life that the concept of moving forward - to go - has been a mantra that has saved me from killing myself. I also named it Go because we took it there, musically; we went the distance."

Krizz Kaliko's Go will be released on April 8 through Strange Music.
