XXL Freshman 2016 is coming and the freshman hopefuls are gearing up to possibly make this year’s class. With the 10th Spot voting happening now, we have to let the potentials tell us why they should appear on this year’s cover.

The next pitch comes from Kodak Black. The Pompano Beach rapper has created quite the buzz in a short amount of time. Having released his critically-acclamied mixtape, Project Baby in 2013, Kodak has maintained a strong hold on the rap game since breaking out. Influenced by the likes of Lil Boosie and Chief Keef, Kodak has helped feed the streets with a fresh and rejuvenating Florida sound. With Drake jamming out to his music and "SKRT" still getting heavy radio spins nationwide, Kodak has his eyes set on the XXL Freshman cover. Watch above as he tells us why he should appear on the coveted XXL Freshman list.

The XXL Freshman 10th Spot will run for one week. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into the XXL Freshman Class.
