Kodak Black’s Lawyer Calls Out Police for Allegedly Sharing Photo of Rapper in Custody
Kodak Black's criminal lawyer, Bradford Cohen, has some words for the Miami-Dade Police Department, a police force he believes shared a non-mugshot picture of a handcuffed Kodak in police custody after the rapper was arrested on federal and state firearms charges on Saturday (May 11).
"I think the actions of the [police] in taking a photo of him in the police station in handcuffs and selling it or giving it to WSVN is a disgusting display of unprofessionalism," Cohen told the South Florida Sun Sentinel on Sunday (May 12).
The photo Cohen speaks of isn't Kodak's mugshot, but instead, an unusually casual image of Kodak sitting in a police station in cuffs. He even flashes a slight smile for the camera. A reporter for local Florida news outlet WSVN posted the image Saturday evening.
Kodak's latest arrest came at the hands of The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Miami-Dade Police Northside Gang Unit and the U.S. Marshals. This latest arrest arrives as Kodak awaits the start of trial for a criminal sexual conduct case he caught in South Carolina nearly three years ago.
XXL has reached out to Kodak's team for more information regarding his arrest.
