Does Kanye West’s Sunday Service Mean His ‘Yandhi’ Album Is Coming?
Kanye West's Sunday Service is about to get the Coachella treatment this weekend when the rapper brings the gospel music-themed event to the festival grounds in Indio, Calif. While the weekly performance inspires unity, could Sunday Service also be the inspiration for Kanye's next album, Yandhi?
After Sunday Service kicked off in January of this year, it was clear Kanye was putting on an elaborate production. Every week, the Chicago MC performs alongside a gospel choir and live band at different venues. Sometimes it’s at ’Ye’s Calabasas, Calif. home or the Adidas headquarters in Portland, Ore. From monochromatic outfits to the gospel choir being flown in to the celebrities showing face—Kid Cudi, Tyler The Creator, Katy Perry and Diplo, to name a few—there's plenty to talk about.
So what exactly is going on? Fans speculate the weekly Sunday Service event is just a big teaser leading up to a new album and that his performance at Coachella will conclude with the release of Yandhi. "Prediction: kanye drops yandhi during/after sunday service," one Twitter user wrote. "According to highly valued inside sources(no one) the possibility is a strong: maybe."
"After sunday service, kanye will release yandhi 😌," tweeted another.
Despite Yandhi being delayed since November of 2018, it looks like Yeezy supporters are still anticipating its release.
