Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s Son Saint Forces Rapper to Retire
It's tough enough to make a name for yourself in hip-hop. That only gets worse when you share the same name as the child of entertainment's most high profile couple. A Canadian rapper known as Saint West decided to call it quits after Kanye West and Kim Kardashian named their son Saint.
The rapper, whose real name is Lindon McIntyre, sent a video to TMZ announcing his retirement. "I would like to announce my official retirement from hip-hop,” the original Saint West said. “Congratulations Kanye and Kim. Thank you for choosing such a beautiful name. And baby Saint West, may God smile on you. I’ll always be cheering for you. And try to avoid becoming a rapper.”
It seems McIntyre was looking for a good reason to call it quits as not everyone is cut out to be a rapper. It's not like this guy was well known either. He could have easily changed his moniker and no one would have noticed. But Kanye West and Kim Kardashian naming their son Saint West provided the perfect opportunity to hang it up while letting McIntyre earn a little viral recognition on his way out.
Kanye and Kim's son was born on Dec. 5. Rap fans found out about his arrival after she announced the birth on her official site. The baby was scheduled to be born on Christmas Day, but a procedure done to turn him from a breech position caused an early delivery. Saint West is healthy and doing well by all accounts.
