Jazz Cartier Weighs His Options on New Song “Which One”

Jazz Cartier is back with another heater to appease fans waiting for his long-teased major label debut, Fleurever. "Which One," released on Friday (June 22), finds the Toronto rapper playfully contemplating his newfound wealth over a bulldozer of a beat.

The hook here repeats the song's title in a playful game of Would You Rather, where the options are opposing designer brands, luxury sports cars and beautiful women. "Which one?/Gucci, Louis, which one?/Two bad hoes, can't pick none/Rari, Lambo, switched 'em/Then I skr," he raps.

The production comes courtesy of DZL, with additional production from X-plosive and Abaz. It's unclear whether the song will land on Cartier's forthcoming full-length, but he has shared several songs expected to make the final tracklist, including "Right Now" and "Wildflower." The Canadian also featured on recent tracks from Kaytranada and Larry June.

Cartier spoke to XXL last summer, shortly after signing a deal with Capitol Records, about the importance of patience in the music industry. “Rap’s a waiting game; some people get impatient and blow their shot. I’m just gonna put out good music and wait for my turn,” he said.

Count fans among those impatient for the spitter's turn to arrive. Jazz has said Fleurever will drop sometime in 2018. It will be his first project since 2016's Juno Award-winning Hotel Paranoia. While the wait continues, you can listen to "Which One" below.
