As more light is shined on the DMV, more artists are coming out of the wood works. Maryland native Jay IDK (Ignorantly Delivering Knowledge), is one of the latest MCs to look out for in the Mid-Atlantic. Today, he drops his visual for the song "Metro" off his project Subtrap.

In the clip, Jay turns up on the Metro, rhyming out loud as passengers look on in dismay. But by the end of the treatment things have changed.

The Prince George County native had this to say about his inspiration for the high-powered cut. "With the rap industry becoming more and more oversaturrated, the difficulty of breaking as an independent artist has been steadily increasing. Without a major budget behind your art, its safe to say that 9/10 you’re wasting your time and energy. That last statement is exactly how I felt as I struggled to keep my name relevant by selling weed to pay for my career, which was music."

XXL recently chopped it up with the 23-year-old MC and got his perspective on his Subtrap movement (trap music with substance). "People have been telling me that SubTrap has been making them think more and some have been saying it has become like their voice, saying what they can’t say themselves in front of an audience," he said. "Our movement and the people in it, the Hxly Tribe, are starting to grow every day."
