J. Cole stands up for Colin Kaepernick once again.

The Dreamville founder hit up his Twitter timeline to embrace the three-year anniversary of the former NFL player's initial protest against oppression in the United States while on the football field. In a tweet sent out on Wednesday night (Aug. 14), Cole reminds his followers that he believes Kaep should be given a job in the NFL.

"Thank you @Kaepernick7 we ain’t forgot. @nfl let the man work," Cole said in a tweet including a video chronicling Kaepernick's journey with the protest. Kaepernick shared the video to his own Instagram account earlier that day.

The video shows the scenes of police brutality that fueled the beginning of Kaep's mission to combat injustice around the country. Cole, who went on his KOD Tour last year, did so by kneeling before the start of NFL games during the 2016 season.

Since leaving the San Francisco 49ers in 2017, Kaepernick has yet to be hired by another team in the league. Many people believe this has more to do with him sparking controversy by kneeling during the National Anthem at regular-season games than his ability on the field.

In the time since Kaepernick's been out of the NFL, Cole has shown his support. In a 2017 interview with GQ, the North Carolina rapper defended Kaepernick's decision to speak out against racism in the U.S. through the kneeling protest.

Cole's tweet came not long after Jay-Z and Roc Nation announced their new partnership with the NFL. Hov and his imprint will oversee the Super Bowl halftime as the league's “live music entertainment strategist." Roc Nation will also choose the artists who will perform in different NFL content throughout the season. Hov's camp reportedly said Jay spoke to Kaepernick about the deal, but his team denies that Jay talked to Kaepernick about the partnership.
