Hip-Hop Reacts to Osama bin Laden’s Death
Late last night, President Barack Obama announced that the United States had found and killed longtime terrorist Osama bin Laden. The Al Qaeda leader, who masterminded the biggest terrorist attack against the United States of America in 2001, apparently resisted and was shot in the head. He was later buried at sea.
The decade-long pursuit elicited a wide array of responses as countless people gathered outside the White House, in Times Square and at Ground Zero, where the planes that killed thousands of people crashed, waving American flags and chanting.
But the streets of New York and Washington, D.C., weren't the only places people took to let their voices be heard. Members of the music industry, including rappers, producers and DJs, took to Twitter to express their thoughts, with tweets ranging from serious and skeptical to playful and even exciting in tone.
