Original Story:

Another day, another new iteration of a dope Travis Scott song. This time it's the original version of the track "Pick Up the Phone," and funny enough, he isn't even on it. You can check out the original "Pick Up the Phone" above.

As you probably noticed, Travis isn't on this song. The voice you hear singing the first verse of this "Pick Up the Phone" belongs to a little known Delaware-based singer named Starrah. Her higher pitch voice makes for quite a different sound than the Travis Scott version, and we'd even say it blends in more with Young Thug's reedy vocals. Everything else about the song is the same. Quavo's verse is still toward the end of the track, and Thugger's hyperactive flow still sounds like it was made specifically for the Frank Dukes & Vinylz-produced instrumental.

The leaking of this original "Pick Up the Phone" offers closure for a story Uproxx reported a few months ago. Back in June, the site noted that Young Thug's sister tweeted complaints about Travis leaking his own version of the song. At the time, she mentioned that the original version of the track was Thugger's and that it featured Starrah. Welp, now we have it, and we have to say, it's at least as dope as the version we fist heard.

You can hear Travis' version of "Pick Up the Phone" and the rest of his new album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight on Apple Music.
