Harve Pierre, the longtime Bad Boy executive and right hand man to Sean “Diddy” Combs, has been appointed President of the company. Pierre, who met Combs while they were both students at Howard University started at Bad Boy in 1993 as an intern. He steadily rose through the ranks and was promoted to Senior VP of A&R in 1998, and then Executive VP and General Manager in 2003. As president, Pierre will oversee the finance, creative, promotional, marketing, A&R, International, and Sales divisions at the label. He will also be launching his own imprint, Crazy Joint Entertainment, that will develop talent for Bad Boy. In a statement released today, Diddy praised Pierre for his years of service and congratulated him on his new position. "Harve's promotion to President is well deserved” says Combs “he has been with Bad Boy since the beginning and has worked hard to learn all aspects of the business. He has always been an important part of the A&R process and it is only fitting that Bad Boy would house his imprint, Crazy Joint. I look forward to Harve's continued success." Throughout his carrer, Pierre has served as executive producer on over 50 Bad Boy albums and helped guide the careers of artists such as The Notorious B.I.G., Total, 112 and Boyz N Da Hood. During the 1990’s, working under the stage name Joe Hooker, Pierre contributed vocals to a variety of albums and songs, including Black Rob’s “I Dare You” and Lil Cease’s “Play Around.”
