Back in 2013, Jay Z dropped a Timbaland- and Swizz Beatz-produced loosie just to taunt the Washington news hounds. That song, called "Open Letter," took aim at those who said he and his wife's vacation to Cuba was unfair or unpatriotic, rapping that he could "turn Havana to Atlanta." Today (June 9), Gunplay turns that same beat on its ear, using it to bring the focus back across the water to Miami. The Maybach Music Group rapper has announced that his debut studio album, Living Legend, will hit stores July 31. Actually, the reckless rapper does so in footage from the booth before the video for the freestyle proper begins. He raps that, come the end of July, Living Legend will be "in stores, in your baby mama whip, in your mama house."

The first single from Living Legend is the DJ Mustard-produced, YG-featuring "Wuzhanindoe," which catches Gunplay feeling at how on the left coast. Though without a proper debut album to his name, the Carol City native has contributed to all three Self Made compilations from Maybach Music Group, as well as Custom Cars & Cycles as a member of the trip Triple C's. As a solo artist, Gunplay has released no fewer than nine mixtapes; his most widely circulated was 2013's Acquitted, which featured "Bible on the Dash," his biggest hit to date.
