Kanye West’s Photographer For ‘The College Dropout’ Cover Is Selling Photos From That Shoot
Next Thursday, I'm going to have a one time sale of all the #dannyclinchhiphop series. These photos will only be on my web store for 24 hours. Keep an eye out for more never seen photos in the next week. Web store link in my bio. Contact sheet from Kanye's first record College Dropout in 2004. #kanyewest #collegedropout
Danny Clinch—the photographer of the cover for iconic Kanye West's The College Dropout—is selling photos from that shoot for 24 hours. The photographer announced via Instagram that he will be selling photos from his hip-hop series.
Fans can purchase the pictures via his web store, which include never-before-seen photos. Clinch has shot photos of some rap heavy hitters, including 2pac, Slick Rick, OutKast, Redman, Run-DMC, The Fugees and many more. Last year, Kanye West celebrated the 10 anniversary of his debut The College Dropout with his then-his fiancée Kim Kardashian. 'Ye spoke about what his debut album meant to him and took a look back at the LP 10 years later. XXL caught up with him to talk College Dropout, the glory days of the Roc and the growth of Kanye West.
"College Dropout—I’m mad I don’t have any parts of that right now," said Dame. "That shit was art. It was authentic and it was real and it was based off his experiences. Regardless, the best album is always the first one because your haven’t achieved the goals. You still talking about what you going to get when it happens; you still got that hunger in you. And that was that album. Like Nas’ first album. Like Biggie’s first album. Like Jay’s first album. Like Doggystle. Those first albums were fucking insane. It doesn’t get any better than those first albums"

I embrace the fact that some folks refer to me as a Rock n Roll photographer . The truth is, I listen to and photograph all genres of music. In fact my career began in Hip Hop. So in honor of #TBT I'm gonna drop some of my classic images from that era . Although I shot the first Fugees Album , Blunted on Reality , this is from an editorial shoot i did as they were preparing for their next record , The Score . photographed at Booga Basement in NJ 1996. Enjoy , and check in next week ! #fugees #laurynhill #wyclefjean #prasmichel #dannyclinchhiphop @mslaurynhill @wyclefjean @hiphopphotomuseum
