The Game Releases the Tracklist to ‘The Documentary 2′

Hip-hop has already enjoyed a great year in 2015, with massive albums from Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, Future, Meek Mill, Drake, Joey Bada$$, A$AP Rocky, Raekwon, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre... The list goes on, really. And the rest of the year is shaping up well, too, with some serious projects on the way. But few are as highly anticipated as The Game's The Documentary 2, the much-anticipated followup to the West Coast MC's 2005 debut LP and his first solo album since 2012's Jesus Piece. And while the album has been pushed back a few times, today The Game revealed a new release date—Oct. 9—and unveiled the album's tracklist, hopefully ensuring that the project is fully on the way now.

The Game's always been known for his big-name collaborations, and The Documentary 2 will be no exception from that trend. Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Future, Drake, Snoop Dogg, Diddy, Q-Tip and more made the cut for the album, which will be released via Blood Money/Fifth Amendment/Entertainment One Music. And while he's unveiled a few promotional singles over the past few months to get fans ready for the LP—most notably his DeJ Loaf-assisted "Ryda"—the only previously-released song to make the cut is his collaboration with Drake, "100," released in July.

Last month, The Game debuted the artwork for the album and mentioned in June that Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, Alchemist, DJ Premier and Scott Storch had all contributed production for the LP. The only notable absence is Lil Wayne, who had contributed to each of Game's last three albums.

Game also created a short film called "The Making Of The Documentary 2" which he'll be screening in New York and Los Angeles in the coming days. That's in addition to Game's long-running Robin Hood project, which he's most recently used to give away $1,000 a day to lucky fans in the buildup to his album's release.
