French Montana, Lil Pump and Diplo’s “Welcome to the Party” Played by French Team at 2018 World Cup
French Montana was lit at the 2018 World Cup Championship as his song "Welcome to the Party," which features Lil Pump, Diplo and Zhavia, played as the French team celebrated their win.
On Sunday (July 15), as the world tuned in to watch France and Croatia go head-to-head for the ultimate title, the Coke Boys frontman was in the midst of the action. Sharing his experience live from Moscow, Russia, French celebrated like a locale as France's national team took the W. But, the true icing on the cake was when the rapper's newest single was played in the moments following their triumphant win.
"WHAT A MOMENT !! SHOUT OUT TO FRANCE FOR PLAYING MY SONG #welcometotheparty WHEN THEY WON!!." he wrote along with a video of him rapping along to the song.
"SOCCER GAVE ME MY FIRST VISA TO LEAVE AFRICA." added. "AND SHOWED ME ITS BIGGER WORLD OUT THERE ! THANKFUL TO BE HERE HANNNN."
Early last month, the "New Thang" rapper officially earned his stars and stripes as an U.S. citizen. The Morocco-born artist, by way of the Bronx, began the lengthy process back in February 2018. However, French has never lost sight of his roots particularly when it comes to drawing inspiration from the motherland for his music.
