See there aren’t many sneakers that can stand the test of time like a good ol’ pair of white-on-white high-top Nike Air Force 1s (often referred to as Uptowns). And if you think for a second these timeless kicks fell off the lifestyle grid, think again. Though it’s unfair to call it a comeback because let’s face it, these shoes never really went out of style—especially to the real sneakerheads— but for the past few months the classic high-tops have been spotted on the feet of artists like A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar and even our 2013 Freshman cover boy Travi$ Scott. So is a renaissance of the Bruce Kilgore-created sneakers in order? We’ll let you decide. But if anything, it’s safe to say that the all-white Nike AF1s have officially moved from the streets to high fashion. With spring in full bloom and summer sitting around the corner, we give you the Five Reasons Why You Should Cop a Pair of Air Force 1s Right Now.—Ralph Bristout (@RalphieBlackmon)

Fairly Priced

No matter where you purchase these bad boys, the average retail price for an all-white pair of the high-tops is $95. That’s almost half the price of a pair of J’s and less than half for Foamposites. Now that’s what you call a good buy.

Available Everywhere

In a world where quickstrike releases are so common with most sneakers, the AF1s lead the pact in being the most accessible.  No matter where you search, whether it’s Flight Club, Foot Locker or that popular local sneaker shop down the street, there’s a good chance that these kicks will be there fully stocked and available to buy.  No camping out necessary.

Continues to Possess that “Fresh” Factor

After all these years, the all-white Ups remain a staple for sneakerheads and an essential for every spring/summer outfit. In a way, these shoes symbolize that “fresh” factor when it comes to cleaning up nice for the warm weather. You can actually match them with anything and still look fly.

Nostalgic

There’s a reason why rappers like A$AP Rocky and the Mob, Kendrick Lamar, Hit-Boy and so many others are rocking the classic kicks—that’s because they’re well, classic. The Air Force Ones exude a nostalgic feeling that's worth always embracing. Since its emergence in the 80s—1982 to be exact; thanks to the great shoe designer Bruce Kilgore—the groundbreaking design not only broke ground in basketball but hip-hop as well, which explains why these MCs continue to embrace the shoe today.

Same Look, New Style

The rappers, who’ve been seen rocking the all-white Uptowns, are matching them with high-end gear (Think Versace, En Noir, etc.) and even streetwear favorites like Hood By Air.  It’s safe to say that this growing trend could get bigger this summer. Oh and the slimmer the jeans, the better. The new look is pairing the kicks with slim to regular fitted jeans, that way the sneaker tongue and strap could hang out.
