Known for causing controversy, Eminem found himself in hot water again last month when it was discovered that he called Tyler, The Creator a "faggot" on the song "Fall" off of his latest album, Kamikaze. Although the word was censored on the record, it could still be made out and Shady received a ton of backlash.

Now, during his latest sit-down interview with Sway Calloway for part three of The Kamikaze Interview, the Detroit spitter is expressing his regret for using the word on the track. "I think that the word that I called him on the album was—on that song—was one of the things where I felt like this might be too far because, in my quest to hurt him, I realized that I was hurting a lot of other people by saying it," said Shady.

According to Em, his decision to diss Tyler came after the former Odd Future member talked negatively about his song "Walk on Water" on Twitter. "When Tyler tweeted out the thing about 'Walk on Water'—this fucking song is horrible, I was like, 'Alright, I need to say something now because this is fucking stupid,'" he said.

"I'm not gonna be America's punching bag and muthafuckas just wanna think it's cool and safe to say whatever the fuck they want about me," Em continued.

The rapper goes on to reveal that Tyler's diss really upset him because whenever the two have seen each other in the past, Em always showed him love. "I realize now and I realized when I said it, but I wasn't like in the mind frame—I was angry when I said the shit about Tyler. The fact of like every time I saw this kid, always so cool to you. I loved his energy. He was a funny dude, like he's super charismatic and shit," he added.

Although the rapper realizes now why it was wrong to say the word, he admits he kept going back to the song with doubts. "I was so mad it was just whatever, but in the midst of everything else that was going on in this album, the things that it took to pull this album together and all that kind of shit, it was one of the things that I kept going back to going, 'I don't feel right with this,'" the rapper continued.

While the word is now censored on Kamikaze, Em realized it could still be heard even after it was edited. "Before the album came out, I had the conversation with Paul [Rosenberg] and we spun the word back, but now I realize people can hear what I'm saying anyways," he added.

Elsewhere in part three of the interview, Eminem also confirms that the United States Secret Service did pay him a visit due to his diss against President Donald Trump. The end of the interview also teases a part four, where Em appears to discuss a supposed Drake diss on the album.
