Eminem Helps Chance The Rapper Come Up With a New Name for ‘Saturday Night Live’
On Saturday (Nov. 18), Eminem will join Chance The Rapper as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. Ahead of the episode, SNL has released a series of promos featuring Em, Chano and cast member Leslie Jones.
In the first clip, Chance introduces Eminem as the musical guest but things quickly go south when Jones tells the rapper to ask Em why he won't battle her. "Cause she'll win," says a straight-faced Eminem, to which Jones replies, "That is correct, sir."
In another promo, Eminem becomes confused by "The Rapper" portion of Chance's name, saying, "Wait, I thought I was the rapper?" This then leads to Leslie and Shady trying to figure out new names for Chano, which include: Chance The Hottie, Chance The Poet, Chance Encounter, Chance The Triple Threat and Chancer The Dancer.
Chancer The Dancer may actually work for Chance, as another SNL promo featured the rapper breaking into a spontaneous dance party with cast members Beck Bennett, Kate McKinnon and Pete Davidson.
While the Chicago rapper won't be performing any new music on the upcoming episode, fans can be on the lookout for his upcoming Christmas project with Jeremih. Earlier this week, producer Bongo ByTheWay revealed Chano and Jeremih would team up again to re-release Merry Christmas Lil' Mama as a full album.
"It's gonna be a little bit of both, but pretty much, it's gonna be a completion of that project," the producer said. "We just put it out for the culture, for the fans and stuff. Now, we’re really finishing it up and we’re gonna put it out right. It’s gonna have new music. It’s gonna be mixed and mastered and everything.”
