Drake donated $75,000 to help build a studio at Strawberry Mansion High School, a school in Philadelphia. The Huff Posts reports that the OVO Sound leader became involved after seeing the ABC News special that focused on the school's Principal, Linda Cliatt-Wayman, and her tough love approach to reduce the violence and improve the academics. Strawberry Mansion High School is located in one of the city's poorest and most dangerous neighborhoods. The challenges faced by the Philadelphia students go beyond the classroom. Since Wayman's arrival two years ago assaults have dropped dramatically but academics and resources remain a issue. Seeing this Drake was moved to get involved.

In October 2013 while in Philly for a concert, Drizzy invited members of the school community to a private gathering and told them that he was going to build a recording studio for the Philly school. "This is about you. This is about your principal. This is about your future," he said. "I love you. I care about you. I want to see you succeed." The studio was built by members of OVO at Strawberry Mansion by the summer of 2014. Wayman finally found a teacher in early February, part-time music teacher Ben Diamond.

You can read the full story here. It's always good to see superstars giving back to underprivileged communities. One guy who's gave Drake some recent praise is Guy Fieri. On the track "6 Man’" from his recent release If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late Drizzy big ups the blonde-haired TV personality with the line, “Fieri, I’m in the kitchen, I’m a magician.” The famed cook expressed his thoughts when first finding out about the name drop. “It was a total surprise,” he said. “I’m still getting a big grin out of that one. Drake’s an awesome guy. I love his music and energy.”

It's been a good week for the "6 God."
