Drake Vents on New Song “I’m Upset”
After setting the internet ablaze with his "Duppy Freestyle" going at Pusha-T, Drake is back in album mode. On Saturday night (May 26), Drizzy delivered his new single, "I'm Upset," off his upcoming Scorpion album.
The 6 God takes a different tone than his previous single, "Nice For What," as the track finds Aubrey venting over a trap production from Oogie Mane that possesses rolling hi-hats, deep bass and a subdued piano loop. "I'm upset/50,000 on my head, it's disrespect," Drake rhymes on the chorus. "So offended that I had to double check/I'ma always take the money over sex/That's why they need me out the way/What you expect?"
The "God's Plan" rapper continues to spell out his issues into the verses. "Got a lot of blood and it's cold/They keep tryna get me for my soul/Thankful for the women that I know/Can't go 50-50 with no ho," he snaps. "Every month, I'm supposed to pay her bills/And get her what she want/I still got like seven years of doin' what I want/My dad still got child support from 1991."
Drizzy's new album is set to drop next month at a still undetermined day. Not many details are known about the project. We do know it will be executive produced by the broskies Noah "40" Shebib and Oliver El-Khatib. There's a chance there could be a collab with DJ Premier on the LP.
Is this Aubrey's next No. 1 hit?
