Dr. Dre Is Done Mixing Anderson .Paak’s ‘Oxnard’ Album
Don't look now, but it looks like Anderson .Paak's Oxnard, which will be the proper follow-up album to the the rapper's 2016 effort, Malibu, could be dropping soon. In an Instagram he uploaded Wednesday (Sept. 12), Dr. Dre, who signed the 2016 XXL Freshman to Aftermath Entertainment a few years ago, announced that he'd finished mixing .Paak's new LP.
"Just finished mixing the album. It’s a celebration bitches!!" Dre wrote in a caption of a photo he took with .Paak. In the image, the two are standing in front of a mixing board as Dre holds out a hat with the album's title out in front of him.
For his part, .Paak confirmed Dre's announcement with a tweet later that day. "ALBUM DONE. Time to bring it back home 😈," he wrote.
.Paak began seriously trumpeting his new project when he dropped off his electric single "Bubblin" this past May. A couple months later, in July, it was revealed that Dr. Dre would be mixing .Paak's latest project. Needless to say, anticipation has been mounting ever since.
While there's no release date for the project yet, it looks like it could be coming soon. For now, all we can do is wait—and maybe listen to "Bubblin" while we're at it.
