The premiere of Dr. Dre's long-awaited Compton: A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre album is just hours away. Dre joined Apple Music's Zane Lowe for a quick phone teaser to discuss the making of the album and revealed that he will donate the project's royalties to a new performing arts center in Compton. "I've been working on something to make this album really special," said Dre. "I reached out to Compton's Mayor Asia Brown and I decided to donate all of my artist royalties from the sale of this album to help fund a new performing arts and entertainment facility for the kids of Compton."

Dre worked with a slew of past collaborators and new friends and says that he, King Mez and Justus wrote a majority of the project's lyrics. "A lot of my friends came through for me in a big way, man, old and new" said the superstar producer. "The new artists, man, King Mez and Justus, these guys came in with me and grinded with me throughout the whole project. Matter of fact, most of the lyrics are written by us three. We would just go in the studio and put up a track and for some reason, the stars aligned and we killed it."

For over a decade, Dre has been fielding questions about Detox and now that a new project is coming out and he made it clear that Detox is never coming out, Dre sounds relieved and said, "Hopefully I can stop hearing, Where's Detox?"

Compton will stream on Apple Music tonight at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST. Following the premier, Dre and Zane Lowe will go through the album in an in-depth interview. The project will be available on iTunes at midnight.
