Cash Money is the roster and the monster crew, and DJ Greg Street has just joined Birdman’s flock, Cash Money Records and Cash Money Content.

“I have never once doubted the power of Birdman and Slim, and the Cash Money empire as a whole,” Street said via a press release statement after signing his new deal. “My goal is to add in making Cash Money Records the first billion dollar independent label by putting major plays together for the brand, in and outside of selling records.”

Street’s deal is not a typical one. He is lined up to curate both singles and albums by employing YMCMB’s new and unreleased material, yet as far as his affiliation with Cash Money Content, he will author his own books and participate in book-related projects. The acclaimed Atlanta DJ is the founder of We Need 2 Read, a reading program meant to address illiteracy in Atlanta’s high schools.

“Greg Street is a much valued and respected colleague of the YMCMB family,” Birdman expressed. “Slim and I collaborated with him so often, we decided the next step would be to extend a deal to him that would allow him to bring his unique voice and perspective to both our label and publishing company.”

For over a decade, Street has been one of the top DJs at Atlanta’s V-103 and has a long track record in hip-hop, which includes his 2006 LP with DJ KaySlay, The Champions: The North Meets The South. Now, Street joins Busta Rhymes, Mystikal and Limp Bizkit as some of YMCMB’s more recent signees who already count as veterans of music.

“I’m honored to have worked with and supported the YMCMB family since the early 1990s and look forward to expanding the relationship,” Street shared.–Christopher Minaya
