Desiigner was arrested Thursday evening (Sept. 8) in front of a Times Square Foot Locker in New York City. The arrest happened around 9 p.m. EST, with TMZ reporting that a road rage incident led to felony drug and weapons charges.

According to law enforcement, passengers in an SUV and the driver of another vehicle began screaming at one another, the driver of the second car calling 911 to report that Desiigner had pulled a gun on him. While the SUV left, the driver who made the call had taken down the license plate number, resulting in what was eventually a run-in with police.

When cops searched the SUV, they discovered a large quantity of loose pills, with the celebrity news site reporting that police found Oxycontin and other drugs. Desiigner and four others were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell, both of which are felonies. The rapper was also charged with felony criminal possession of a loaded weapon and menacing.

As of 5 a.m. EST, Desiigner was still getting questioned in custody. We will continue to update this story as news develops, with footage of the arrest included below. For Desiigner, the incident follows what has otherwise been a solid week, the rapper appearing at Kanye West's Yeezy Season 4 fashion show and performing a few songs afterward. He as well dropped a new track with new G.O.O.D. Music signee Tyga titled "Gucci Snakes."
