DeJ Loaf gets real on her new track "Beef N Broccoli," throughout which the Detroit artist uses a pair of green-and-brown Timberlands as a metaphor.

The "Try Me" rapper/singer is preparing to drop her debut album, and "Beef N Broccoli" is a strong single that should build considerable buzz for the upcoming project. The four-minute-plus track features silky smooth, acoustic-heavy production from Bassman Foster, Jeff "Gitty" Gitelman, Swagg R'Celious and Carrington.

The 25-year-old musician is transparent about her current state of mind. She opens up about how she's been dealing with depression and how personal relationships can change as a person accumulates money, fame and power. She raps, "Sometimes I wanna get away 'cause life get stressful/I done had it up to here, I felt the pressure/Got me turning up the bottle to deal with depression/They wanna see you down when you progressing."

In case you missed it, DeJ dropped her All Jokes Aside mixtape back in April. The project features 11 tracks with a lone guest appearance by Silkk The Shocker. Production on All Jokes Aside is handled by Sonny Digital, Izze The Producer, DDS, KLVN, iRockSays, Carrington Brown and Kharri. Since she dropped the mixtape in April, she's also been unleashing loosies on her SoundCloud page, including "Miami," "Goals" and "True or False" featuring Chi-town rhymer Lil Durk.

You can listen to "Beef N Broccoli" above via SoundCloud. The record might even inspire you to cop a pair of the classic Timberland boots as the fall and winter seasons roll around.
