It's been quite a lengthy wait for Cypress Hill fans who have been anticipating their next album, and it looks like the countdown to its release can begin.

DJ Muggs reveals that the group's forthcoming Elephants on Acid studio LP is finally finished, hinting that it may see a release sometime this year. The veteran producer posts what appears to be a cover for the project to his page, simply writing, "Album finished. 2018."

Even though they've been keeping fans on their toes for their next project, the hip-hop collective gave fans their live show experience with their U.S. tour from last year. They also hit the road in 2017, for their three Haunted Hill shows that took place in the fall.

The new album from Cypress Hill was originally announced by the rap group back in 2016, and follows in the footsteps of their Rise Up LP that dropped all the way back in 2010. It was the first release from the group following their departure from Columbia Records, as they dropped the album through EMI's Priority Records.

Fans originally thought that they would be getting a new project from Cypress Hill back in 2014, but unfortunately, the year came and went without an official release.
