Chris Brown just can't seem to  stay away from the court room, but this time he's the one pressing charges. The singer claims a man on the basketball court threatened to tell police he started a brawl unless he paid him some serious money.

According to TMZ, Malcolm Ausbon, the player accusing Brown of initiating a fight with him, was the first to throw around a lawsuit. Ausbon claimed Brown, along with three other people, attacked him over a foul call during a simple game of basketball last July at an L.A. gym. He even recounted the "Loyal" singer telling him he was affiliated with the Bloods.

The 25-year-old entertainer, who was recently sentenced to 131 more days in jail for violating probation, wasn't willing to have anyone else defame his name with false accusations, so he took matters into his own hands and counter-sued Ausbon. According to the counter-suit obtained by TMZ, Aubson admitted to wrongly accusing Brown of the violent act, however Ausbon's lawyer later sent in this written demand:

"Mr. Ausbon believes $250,000 will suffice compensating him for his physical and emotional injuries ... Mr. Ausbon is placed in a position by the LAPD where he needs to decide whether he will press charges for aggravated assault and battery. However, Mr. Ausbon prefers not to resort to filing these claims or the lawsuit.  He would rather be compensated."

Ausbon allegedly ended up in the hospital and sustained injuries all over his body due to the so-called "fight". Mark Geragos, Brown's lawyer, said Ausbon promised to keep the incident a secret if Brown forked up a quarter-of-a-million-dollars, but Brown refused to pay.

Will Chris ever get a break?
