Chance The Rapper, Snoop Dogg Nominated for 2017 Emmy Awards
The 2017 Emmy Award nominations have officially been announced, and some of our favorite hip-hop stars are amongst the nominees list. Both Chance The Rapper and Snoop Dogg have received Emmy nominations, along with other rappers such as LL Cool J and Common.
The Coloring Book rapper is named in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category for his "Last Christmas" song from his appearance on Saturday Night Live! Common is also nominated in the same category for his song, "Letter to the Free," which was featured in Ava DuVernay's 13th documentary.
Snoop, on the other hand, landed himself a nomination, alongside his VH1 co-host Martha Stewart, in the Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-competition Program category for their work on Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party.
While LL Cool J has stayed quiet for years on the music front, he's still snagging nominations in his television career regardless. The Queens rapper is nominated for Outstanding Structured Reality Program for his role as a producer of Spike TV's Lip Sync Battle, which he co-hosts with Chrissy Teigen.
Congratulations to Chance, Common, Snoop and LL on their nominations. We'll be sure to tune in to see who goes home with an award.
The 2017 Emmy Awards will air live on CBS on Sept. 17 at 8 pm EST/5 pm PDT, and will be presented by host Stephen Colbert.
