Chance The Rapper Puts on Free Show in Chicago Featuring Future, Jeremih and More
Serious question, does anyone put on for their hometown more than Chance The Rapper? The Chi was treated to another epic show from their native son on Saturday (Aug. 12). It featured Future and Jeremih. Did we mention it was free?
The Windy City rapper's day started off on a high note as he had the honor of serving as the grand marshal of the annual Bud Billiken Parade. While being interviewed by ABC 7, he put the people on notice about the lituation. "I’m handing out free tickets all day long," he said. "I wanted to make sure I can identify all those teachers that support our youth and build our children up, all those fathers that are out here with their families, the cornerstones of their houses, bringing their families out—I want to make sure I can identify y'all so my people can get you some free tickets."
Later that night, Chano put on what would be known as the Bud Billiken Bash. He performed several of his latest hits including "No Problem" and "Angels."
The surprise of the night was when he brought out Hendrix who performed "Commas" and Jeremih who wooed the crowd with his hit, "Birthday Sex." Madeintyo and DJ Oreo also performed.
It's safe to say the people were pleased. "@chancetherapper put on for his city last night," one concertgoer noted on Instagram. "Never have a seen another artist put together such an amazing free concert as a 'Thank You' to his community."
