Casanova is dedicating his new video and forthcoming mixtape to the guy who helped him sign his deal.

The Brooklyn rapper has a new project on the way and in light of that, he just released a brand new song and video to show love to his dear friend Taxstone. Taxstone is a well-known podcaster who was arrested in the beginning of the year for his involvement in the shooting last year at Irving Plaza in New York. To pay his respect, Casanova drops “Tax Letter," with a video directed by Gee Lock and a beat that samples the Jay Z classic “Song Cry.” The visual captures the MC writing letters to Tax and reminiscing on old moments as he drinks some D'usse.

“Dear beloved how you holding up?/Whips still moving we ain't slowing up,” Casanova raps as he opens the heartfelt track. “Wish you was right here rolling up/I got songs with Chris Brown man I'm blowing up/That fed case hit me like a car crash/But I still listen to ya podcast/On the beat, they miss you in the streets/Who else gonna bring that heat like that interview with Meek/In the Wraith still drinking D’usse with the chase/You use to get that shit by the case/And the Bevel, they calling you a devil/You went against the grain you was more like a rebel.”

Casanova is set to drop his upcoming mixtape Be Safe Tho on March 17. Be Safe Tho is a line that Taxstone is known for and the MC is flipping it both for promo and to show his love for the one who introduced him to the rap game. Last night in NYC, Casanova held a listening party where he previewed the new tape to some of his biggest fans.

The Brooklyn rapper has been blowing up lately. His debut record “Don’t Run” became an instant hit and he followed that up with the remix that featured Young M.A., Fabolous, Dave East and Don Q.
