For an artist, the road to releasing a debut album can be littered with false starts and unmet expectations. Boogie can attest to this. After sparking a buzz with the mixtapes Thirst 48 in 2014 and The Reach a year later, Boogie appeared to be on his way, inking a deal with Interscope Records. However, Boogie spent the subsequent years warming the label's bench, biding his time with the release of Thirst 48, Pt. II, while awaiting an official release date for his debut album.

The Compton native's fortunes began to change in 2017, when it was announced he had been scooped up by Eminem and signed to Shady Records. Raising his stock nationally with his 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards Detroit cypher performance, and receiving cosigns from the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna, Boogie looks to live up to the hype with his long-awaited Everything's For Sale.

Running 13 tracks in length, Everything's For Sale plays to Boogie's strengths as a lyricist and storyteller. Eminem, J.I.D. and 6Lack make guest appearances, while S1, McCreight, C Ballin, Chris McCleaney, Dart, Fresh Ayr and other helm the boards, delivering an array of expansive backdrops for Boogie to work his magic. The result is a strong first showing that positions Boogie as a rapper to watch out for in the years to come.

With Boogie's major label debut having finally touched down, XXL sifts through the project to pick out 20 of the best lyrics from Everything's For Sale. No buyer's remorse here.
