Birdman Might Be Pissed Off That Tyga Dropped His Album on Spotify
Birdman is allegedly not happy with Tyga at the moment. According to TMZ, the Cash Money Records CEO believes Tyga purposefully tanked his album, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty.
Baby's argument according to sources is that the "Ayo" rapper made sure the album didn't do well by dropping the record on Spotify, encouraging fans to listen to the LP for free. This was a move that Birdman apparently did not sign off on. He believes that Tyga pulled the "childish" stunt in order to get out of his contract with Cash Money. However, it looks like the entrepreneur isn't counting The Gold Album as one of Tyga's contractual obligations. If true, it means T-Raww would still need to drop another album before he could leave Baby's imprint.
The two have been going back and forth in a public dispute since last fall. The Cali rapper expressed his frustrations with Cash Money records and revealed he would be moving forward with the release of his third studio album as an independent artist. The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty came as a surprise at the end of June via the streaming service after having been pushed back three times. The 12-track project is credited to Last Kings Music rather than Cash Money/Young Money and was made available for purchase on iTunes days after dropping on Spotify. The Gold Album only sold 2,200 copies in its first week since fans took the streaming route. TMZ reports that the record executive is even ready to take the matter to court if necessary.
