Police have apprehended their suspect in the murder of Los Angeles-based rapper Kid Cali. The LAPD arrested a 19-year-old man on Saturday (Sept. 10) for the crime that occurred at a Granada Hills pool party, according to TMZ.

The Aug. 20 pool party was held at a mansion with plenty of security cameras, which likely helped police in nabbing their suspect. Police sources said the gunfire started in a fight between two rival gangs. It is not known whether Kid Cali was targeted in this shooting or if he was an innocent bystander. Two other people were shot amid the chaos but were lucky enough to survive.

Police said the San Fernando Valley mansion homeowners did not know many of the guests who were showing up at their party because it was being promoted on social media. There were hundreds of people in attendance at the time of the shooting.

The 30-year-old Kid Cali was signed to Jaccpot Records, a label founded by Washington Redskins wide receiver Desean Jackson. The NFL star mourned his friend's death in an Instagram post after learning of Cali's passing.

"I'm Lost 4 words," Jackson wrote. "In this Life we Live This the hardest part of it & for some reason this the way it has to end I hate it even had to be you bro I just talked to you less then a week ago and told you how crazy it's been in the city and to stay out the way and u told me you need a get away from all that madness."

Snoop Dogg, Nipsey Hussle and NBA veteran Matt Barnes were among the other notable names to express their condolences for the death of Kid Cali.
