Ariana Grande is back in music mode after taking some time off to deal with personal issues including the death of Mac Miller and the break-up with fiance Pete Davidson. She returns on Saturday (Nov. 3) with a new track where she references Mac and former boyfriend Big Sean.

Titled "Thank U, Next," the single will be on her forthcoming fifth album of the same name. Crazy Mike, Scootie and TBHits are behind the boards on the radio-ready ditty that finds the singer reminiscing over lost love. “Thought I'd end up with Sean/But he wasn't a match," she sings. "Wrote some songs about Ricky/Now I listen and laugh/Even almost got married/And for Pete, I'm so thankful/Wish I could say, 'Thank you’ to Malcolm/'Cause he was an angel.”

She adds, "One taught me love/One taught me patience/And one taught me pain/Now, I'm so amazing/I've loved and I've lost/But that's not what I see/So, look what I got/Look what you taught me."

Grande has been very vocal about the love she had for Mac Miller in the wake of his death. She paid homage to the late rapper on social media the day after the tragic news broke. "I adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will," Grande wrote in memory of Miller on Instagram. "I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest."

Mac Miller's death is said to have been a big factor in Grande's breakup with Saturday Night Live actor Pete Davidson. She dated Big Sean for some time in 2014.
