Anderson .Paak Collaborates With Jose Rios on “Just Before the Dawn” Record

Anderson .Paak linked up with a member of his Free Nationals band for a new single. The talented artist collaborated with Jose Rios for a soulful cut called "Just Before the Dawn." Rios played the guitar and bass on this record while Paak handled the vocals and drums.

The song is a nice treat for fans waiting on Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge's highly anticipated Yes Lawd! album. The duo known as NxWorries is scheduled to drop their debut LP on Oct. 21 via Stones Throw Records. Paak and Knxlwedge revealed the tracklist for the project just a few weeks ago.

Yes Lawd! will be Anderson .Paak's first major release since being named to the 2016 XXL Freshman class. During a roundtable discussion at the cover shoot, the rapper/singer talked about the importance of being included in the class.

"[It's] a legit stamp, a legitimizer on the hip-hop resume. You got some stripes,” Paak told XXL. “The real thing will be the time after this, you know? We goin’ see. The proof will be in the pudding, you know? But it’s crazy to see the pictures out there of the people that really did it and made an impact in the game. That’s what I’m pushing for. But it’s really dope to be at this level now of recognition."

The upcoming NxWorries debut will be Anderson .Paak's third project of 2016. The California native began the year by dropping the critically acclaimed Malibu LP. He followed that up in September with a live album released exclusively on Spotify.
