Will Smith has worn the hats of many roles in his storied entertainment career, but his portrayals of action heroes are probably the most endearing. He'll put his signature charismatic flair to good use once again in Netflix's forthcoming action-thriller flick, Bright.

In the film, Smith is an LAPD officer by the name of Daryl Ward. The story takes place in an alternate world, where things like magic and creatures from fairy tales co-exist with human beings. Pretty trippy stuff. The film's co-directed by David Ayer, who directed Smith in 2016's Suicide Squad.

The plot of the film finds Ward and his Deputy Nick Jakoby dealing with life after discovering a magic wand, an artifact that even in this world was thought to have been absent for years. It's resurfacing could alter their future forever. Jakoby is played by Joel Edgerton.

In the trailer for the film, which is the second that's been released so far, Ward and Jakoby discover the wand, and are promptly damaged enough to end up in a hospital. From there, we're taken through clips of them finding their way out of shootouts and exchanging genre-typical back-and-forth banter.

Bright will be released worldwide on Netflix beginning on Dec. 22. Stay tuned, and check out the newest trailer and the one that came before it below. Check out Smith's new EDM song, "Get Lit," when you're done with that.
