UFC Fighter Anderson Silva Says He Isn’t Allowed To Change His Entrance Music From DMX’s “Ain’t No Sunshine”
DMX's "Ain't No Sunshine" has been Anderson Silva's entrance song for the longest, and it looks like it'll stay that way. In preparation for his fight against the Nick Diaz this Saturday (Jan. 31), Silva requested to have his song changed, but UFC President Dana White was not having it.
“Ask Dana White,” Silva said when questioned about the decision. “Whenever I talk about changing my song, he says no. [Brazilian rapper] Pregador Luo was working with Usher, who is my personal friend, on a new tune. But it seems like Dana does not want to change the music, so we won’t be able to do it”.
Why White is reluctant to allow the former UFC Middleweight champ to change his tune is unclear. However, Silva's motivation for changing his song probably has to do with the upcoming match. It will be Anderson's first time returning to the cage since he broke his leg back in 2013 in a rematch against Chris Weidman. Silva probably wanted to change his entrance music because he's excited for the upcoming event.
“It’s as if it’s my first time stepping in there, you know? Everything is very new," said Silva. “I’m coming back … no, no, it’s (like) my first fight in the UFC! Damn! Man, I have to win! I’m feeling like a child with a brand-new toy”.
Regardless of the song Anderson Silva comes out to, we're excited for his comeback. Catch him this Saturday at UFC 183 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
