Ty Dolla Sign Teases ‘Beach House 3’ Mixtape
It looks like Ty Dolla $ign is putting together his first project of 2016.
The Cali crooner recently took to Instagram and revealed the news in a somewhat cryptic way. Posting a picture of himself and Atlantic Records VP Shawn Barron in the studio, the caption reads, "Wait till y'all find out who this is on the left . Me and @shawnbarron cookin just know . #bh3 #campaign." No more details were given.
#BH3 is surely a reference to the third installment of the Ty's beloved mixtape series, Beach House, which has played a big part in the singer's career. He put out the first Beach House mixtape back in 2012. The project featured appearances from Dom Kennedy, Iamsu! and T. Mills.
The following year he put out the sequel, which was way more guest-heavy with appearances from Wiz Khalifa, Jay Rock, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, The Game, Kirko Bangz, Kevin Gates, Juicy J and more.
The series was so successful Ty put out an EP of the same name in 2014 via Taylor Gang/Atlantic. The effort featured the DJ Mustard-produced hit "Paranoid" featuring B.o.B and "Or Nah" featuring Trey Songz and Wiz Khalifa. Apparently, Ty is still in the mood to cook up some of that same flavor.
Dolla Sign put out his debut album, Free TC, last November. The album debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard 200, selling 31,000 equivalent album units. Spearheaded by the singles "Only Right", "Blasé," "When I See Ya," "Saved," Solid" and "Wavy," the album peaked at No. 4 on Billboard's US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
