Tupac Broadway Musical, “Holler If Ya Hear Me,” Is Shutting Down Early

Well, we sort of saw this coming. Weeks ago, it was reported that Todd Kreidler and directed by Kenny Leon's ode to Tupac with the Broadway play, "Holler If Ya Hear Me" starring Saul Williams was struggling to sell on Broadway. Now, it appears that the play is facing the inevitable sooner than we actually anticipated. According to Variety, the play's run has been curtailed and will end July 20th.

The play was receiving mixed reviews and many critics cited the lack of star power as being the primary reason for it's debacle. According to Variety, the play was only able to sit 45% of attendance at the Broadway Palace Theater.

The play has taken incredible losses, especially after hearing that it would close earlier than expected. The play cost $8 million to produce.
