Suge Knight Claims Dr. Dre Paid $20,000 to Have Him Killed
Even from behind bars, Suge Knight has been able to find ways to keep his name in the limelight. Now the former Death Row Records owner is making scandalous allegations about Dr. Dre, claiming the super producer tried to have him killed.
In new legal documents obtained by TMZ, Suge claims a man named Dwayne Johnson showed him a check for $20,000 that was signed by Dre back in July 2016. According to Suge, the payment was for the former record exec's life and Suge was supposed to be offed the day he ran over Terry Carter at the Straight Outta Compton set, killing him.
Suge claims Johnson was supposed to be in on the hit but flipped. He and Johnson later met with a private investigator. Suge says this is the reason he was scared for his life when he ran over Carter at the Tam's in Compton, a crime he is currently facing trial for. Dre's lawyers are refuting the claims.
Suge has been talking a lot while behind bars. Most recently, he claimed that Tupac Shakur might still be alive. "When I left that hospital, me and ‘Pac was laughing and joking. So I don’t see how somebody could turn from doing well to doing bad,” he said during an interview for the new Fox series, Who Shot Biggie & Tupac. “I’ma tell you, with ‘Pac, you never know,” he added.
Earlier this year, he claimed he was the target of the deadly shooting that took the rap icon's life.
